State Alchemists
State Alchemists are Alchemists that have passed the rigerous tests to become part of the Military. Referred to many as "attack
dogs" of the military, these lucky few are immensly powerful, and are even given silver pocketwatches that amplify the
alchemic reations that they use. Every State Alchemist is a specialist in a certain field and are given aliases that embue
that speciality or something else about them, they are also entered into service at the rank of Major.
Edward Elric- "Fullmetal Alchemist"- His right arm and left leg are metal prosthetics known as automail.
Roy Mustang- "Flame Alchemist"- He has gloves made of a special material known as pyrotex, when he snaps his
fingers he can create a spark. Combined with his ability to change the oxygen density in the air, he can create huge explosions
and is counted as one of the most powerful State Alchemists.
Alex Louis Armstrong- "Strong-Armed Alchemist"- Armstrong's techniques, passed down his family as part of the
"Armstrong Tradition" uses part physical might and part explosive electrical energy.
Shou Tucker- "Sewing Life Alchemist"- Tucker has a nack for creating Chimeras, or creatures made up of more
than one animal. He created two that could even speak, one using his wife, and the other using his duaghter Nina. He was then
taken away to a state laberatory and turned into a Chimera himself while he created them for the military.
Boss Graun- "Iron Blood Alchemist"- Gruan can turn any part of his body into a weapon, but that can't save him
and he is killed by Scar, a serial murderer only after State Alchemists.
Marco- "Crystal Alchemist"- Marco is an alchemic doctor, and he created the Crimson Stones that were used in
the Ishballen Massecre. Afterward, he fleed the battlefield, telling only Mustang where he was going.

State Army, non-Alchemists
The state army's regular soldiers fight shoulder-to-shoulder with the Alchemists, and are called in before and after, first
to gauge their enemy's strength and then as the clean-up crew. Alot of the Military character that you meet in the anime are
these regular foot-soldiers.
Maes Hughes- Major/Lieutenant Colonel/Brigadeer General- Mustang's best friend and publicitor. He made a promise to Roy
after he got back from the war in Ishbal to be there for him and push him to the top from behind, so that he could change
the way things are run in the State as Fuhrer King. He has known Mustang for longer than he and his wife have been married.
Riza Hawkeye- 2nd Lieutenant/1st Lieutenant- Mustang's personal aid. Secretly, she's in love with him, and she's always
there to protect him. Out of all of his subordinants, she's the one who can talk back to him and not get reprimanded.
Jean Havoc- 2nd Lieutenant- Havoc is Mustang's most loyal underling. Costantly with a cigarette in his mouth, Havoc is
a quick thinking Lieutenant who whill do anything to protect his Colonel, even if it means going up against Edward.

Other Alchemists
Not all alchemists are state-sanctioned. The State Alchemists are an elite group, and it is very difficult to get accepted
into their ranks, so most of the alchemists in the world aren't Staties.
Alphonse Elric- Edward's younger brother and travel companion. Like his brother, Al is an alchemic protege of sorts. He
was going to become a State Alchemist, but Mustang talked him out of it, telling them that Al's secret would probably be found
out if he went forward with the tests.
The Trigham brothers- Two brothers that impersonated Ed and Al to research the Crimson Water and Stone in order to finish
their father's work and create a Philosopher's stone.
Izumi- Ed and Al's teacher, she can also do transmutations without circles.
Dante- Izumi's teacher... there's more about her, but it's all spoiler, so I won't go into it.
Hoenhiem "Of Light"- Ed and Al's father... there is more about him also, but again, it's all spoiler.

Humunculai
The Humunculai are seven humans artificially created through alchemy, specifically failed Human transmutations. They are named
after the seven deadly sins.
Envy- The oldest of the Humunculai, created by Hoenhiem.
Greed- Envy's rival, created by Dante and sealed by Envy.
Pride- A humunculus that infiltrated the State Military. He ages like a normal human and has a wife and son.
Sloth- Created by Ed and Al, she has also infiltrated the State Military, and works for Pride under a human guise.
Wrath- Youngest of the humunculai, created by Izumi. He stole Ed's arm and leg.
Envy- A Humunculai created by Scar's brother. She longs to become human.
Gluttony- The fat humunculus who can't stop eating. He was created to refine the Philosopher's stone for Dante.
